How to Apply for LTVP for Parent or Grandparent?

Parent or Grandparent of a child studying in Singapore on a Student’s Pass can apply for LTVP. Holding the pass，You can enter and exit Singapore freely without having to separately apply for a visa.

Who can Apply?

Parent or Grandparent of a child studying in Singapore on a Student’s Pass: Father,Mother,Grandfather,Grandmother.

What are the Requirements?

1）The child must possess a Singapore student visa;

2）If the child's student’s pass has less than one year remaining, the validity period of the pass will be the same as that of the child's student’s pass;

3）A local sponsor who is a Singapore citizen or PR aged 21 and above is required.

Documents Required

• A coloured digital photograph taken recently in dimensions 400 x 514 pixels. Please refer to the photo guidelines for more details.

• Travel document

• Birth certificate of the student

• Birth certificate/household register of the student’s parents

• Marriage certificate of the student’s parents

• Divorce certificates, separation deed of the student’s parents and custody papers (if applicable)

• A letter from the student’s school

Other Considerations

1）Generally speaking, if the student is under 16 years old, the parent/Grandparent can apply for the pass. However, necessarily mean that the parent can apply for a guardian pass.

2）Only 1 applicant (either the parent or grandparent of the child) may apply.

3）The pass cannot be used for direct employment; only a work pass can be applied for.

4）Applications will be processed within 6 weeks, provided all the required documents are submitted and in order. Some applications may take longer to process.
