Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Foreign Affairs, Low Yen Ling, responded to parliamentary questions on 27 February and released 10-year statistics for the Global Investor Programme (GIP).
GIP 10-Year Approval Data
Around 450 individuals have obtained Singapore Permanent Residence under the GIP over the past decade.
The share of successful applicants under each option stands at approximately:
✅ Option 1: 50%
✅ Option 2: 40%
✅ Option 3: 10%
Option 1 remains the most popular route for GIP candidates.
Three GIP Investment Tracks
The Global Investor Programme (GIP) grants PR to qualified global investors who aim to grow their businesses and investments via Singapore. The three options are as follows:
Option 1: Invest a minimum of S$10 million to set up a new commercial entity or inject capital into an existing operating business.
Option 2: Invest S$25 million in GIP-endorsed funds.
Option 3: Establish a single-family office in Singapore with at least S$200 million in assets under management, of which a minimum S$50 million must be channelled into selected EDB investment initiatives.
Popular Investment Sectors
Minister Low also shared investment trends. More than half of the GIP capital flows into professional services, info-communications and financial services.
