The Training Employment Pass (TEP), often referred to as the training version of the Employment Pass (EP), is a short-term training pass issued by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM). It is designed for students from recognised overseas tertiary institutions or eligible employees of foreign affiliate companies, enabling them to undertake skill enhancement programmes and internships with hands-on learning and work exposure in Singapore.
Eligibility Criteria
1. For students: Must be enrolled at a recognised educational institution, and the training programme in Singapore must form part of their academic curriculum; OR earn a fixed monthly salary of at least S$3,000.
2. For employees of overseas affiliate companies: Must receive a fixed monthly salary of at least S$3,000.
3. No foreign worker levy or quota requirements apply to TEP holders.
Pass Validity
The TEP is valid for a maximum of 3 months. It cannot be renewed, and reapplication is not permitted.
Pass Entitlements
TEP holders are not eligible to apply for dependent passes for family members, nor can they apply for Singapore Permanent Residence (PR).
